She began her training at the tender age of five in classical ballet, Folklor venezolano, jazz and flamenco. Kanosky “K” Muñoz Alvarez was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela. You will not find a more passionate dancer and instructor in all of Houston. His recent success is due to his passion for the dance, his students, and his work. Salomon takes pride in watching his students grow. When resting between teaching, competing, training, and choreographing new routines for his dance team, he can be found mashing away opponents on his favorite video game, Street Fighter.
Salomon’s work has been featured across the country. Salomon opens up his dance team to the public once a year for aspiring new dancers in the community to train and perform side by side with him and his team. Xango has quickly become one of the top salsa companies in Texas. Salomon and his team have performed in various events across the country. Salomon’s passion for dancing and choreography has led him to form his dance company called Xango. He has become a YouTube salsa sensation with millions of people around the world tuning in to watch and learn from his creative style of dance. Salomon has traveled the world teaching his love for salsa and dance to eager students. Salomon Amaya is a twelve year veteran in the Houston salsa and dance community teaching students of all backgrounds everything from the basics to mastery choreographies. While AMAYA Dance primarily specializes and focuses on salsa dancing, we do like to mix things up and keep it interesting for our students!
